About the Program
The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Hybrid Designs and its consortium partners (iCog β Anyone Can Code, R&D Group, Qua Qua Capitals, and D&T Ethiopia Management Consulting PLC), is launching a five-year program titled “Entrepreneurship in the Digital and Gig Economy (EDGE).”
This program aims to unlock 300,000 dignified and fulfilling employment opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth across Ethiopia through:

Digital outsourcing market expansion (onshore & offshore).
β
Empowering women & vulnerable groups.
β
Supporting over 1,041 MSEs to enhance operational efficiency.
β
Strengthening Ethiopia’s outsourcing ecosystem through strategic partnerships.
By the program’s end, EDGE aims to establish Ethiopia as a leading outsourcing destination, aligned with Mastercard Foundationβs Young Africa Works strategy and Ethiopiaβs development roadmap.
Position: Human Resource and Admin Officer
Job Summary:
The HR and Admin Officer will provide human resources and administrative support to the EDGE program office, ensuring efficient program execution and staff management.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Duties:
β
Assist with day-to-day HR operations.
β
Manage staff records, contracts, performance evaluations, & leave tracking.
β
Coordinate staff benefits & compensation.
β
Address staff relations issues & grievances.
β
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.
β
Process and prepare reports on staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and evaluations.
β
Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and donor regulations.
β
Conduct new employee orientation.
β
Oversee performance evaluation processes.
Administrative Duties:
β
Oversee daily administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
β
Coordinate meetings, trainings, and workshops.
β
Handle travel arrangements for regional staff (flights, accommodation, transportation).
β
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations in the workplace.
β
Manage office facilities, supplies, logistics, security, and equipment.
β
Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualification & Experience:
π MA Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
π
Minimum 10 years of experience in an HR or Administrative role.
π Strong knowledge of labor laws & HR principles.
πΌ Experience in non-profit organizations and donor compliance is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies:
β Strong organizational & time management skills.
β Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
β Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
β Ability to work independently & collaboratively.
β Experience in travel coordination & logistics.
β Knowledge of HR policies, training methodologies, & compliance procedures.
