Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) Vacancy Announcement

Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH) is Ethiopia’s first sovereign wealth fund, established on January 31st, 2021. EIH is the strategic investment arm of the Ethiopian government, managing 28 public commercial companies and aiming to contribute to sustainable economic development through professional management of its funds and assets.

EIH invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following positions:


1. Procurement Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze EIH’s procurement needs.
  • Prepare procurement plans and categorize them based on the purchasing system.
  • Prepare bid documents, manage bidding processes, analyze bids, and evaluate quotations/proformas.
  • Ensure purchased items are delivered to the EIH store.
  • Document and periodically report procurement activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BSc in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Expert.
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of procurement procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant IT software.
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English and Amharic is required.

2. Finance Initiative Owner for Subsidiary Transformation

Location: Addis Ababa

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance initiatives for the transformation of EIH subsidiaries.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with operational excellence.
  • Participate in digital transformation supporting internal control, risk management, and procurement systems.
  • Generate analytical and technical documents in a business context.
  • Contribute to creating a culture of excellence within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree or ACCA certification is highly desirable).
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, including 4 years in a senior management role.
  • Strong familiarity with IFRS and the conversion process.
  • Experience in digital transformation for finance functions.
  • Familiarity with at least two of EIH’s industry clusters: transport/logistics, financial services, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, chemicals, energy, and connectivity.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Language Requirement: Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
