Project Background:
The Horti-LIFE (HL) project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by SNV-Ethiopia in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to strengthen the horticulture sector by improving production, productivity, and food safety in a gender-balanced and nutrition-sensitive manner.
Position Summary:
The Cluster Coordinator will work at a sub-national level, ensuring the quality planning, implementation, follow-up, and reporting of project activities such as Farmers Field School (FFS) establishment, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) & Spray Service Provision (SSP), Smallholder Chain Integration Fund (SCIF), and gender and nutrition mainstreaming. The role involves collaborating with local stakeholders to meet project goals and adhering to SNV procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver process services and ensure consistency and quality in project execution.
- Train and guide institutional and project staff, including Woreda Office of Agriculture experts, Development Agents (DAs), and Lead Farmers.
- Maintain communication with external stakeholders and proactively engage with the client community.
- Collect, verify, and enter project data, identifying any abnormalities.
- Assess and improve service delivery processes to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project implementation, particularly in donor-funded horticulture projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the regional agricultural extension system and practical experience in horticultural production systems.
- A motorbike driving license is mandatory.
- Fluent in English and the local language.

- Ability to travel frequently to woredas and kebeles within the cluster.

Position 2: Project Assistant – Intern
Project Background:
SNV Netherlands Development Organization, in partnership with Save the Children, Mercy Corps, and TechnoServe, is implementing the Livelihood Improvement for Women and Youth (LIWAY) program in Addis Ababa. The program aims to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction, improved gender relations, and social stability by increasing income and access to economic opportunities for 257,000 poor individuals, focusing on women and youth.
Position Summary:
The Project Assistant – Intern will support the LIWAY team in communication and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for a recent university graduate looking to gain experience in these areas. The intern will learn and contribute to the project by preparing communication materials, providing administrative support, and ensuring proper documentation of the project’s achievements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend LIWAY events, meetings, and workshops, preparing minutes, capturing photos, and creating news updates.
- Draft case stories and prepare learning materials in collaboration with the Monitoring and Results Measurement team.
- Support the team with administrative tasks, including facilitating payments, raising purchase requests, and tracking project goods/equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates with up to one year of experience are encouraged to apply; NGO experience is a plus.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.
