1. Position Title: Finance and Grants Specialist (Sub Awards)

Program / Department Summary:

The Finance and Grants Specialist will manage the financial and operational aspects of sub-awards under the USAID-funded Highland Resilience Activity (HRA), a program designed to strengthen resilience among vulnerable households in Ethiopia’s Highlands.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Sub Awards Management (50%): Ensure subawards are managed and monitored according to Mercy Corps’ and USAID regulations.
  • Finance & Compliance Management (50%): Ensure program activities are compliant with donor regulations and Mercy Corps’ internal policies.
  • Influence & Representation (20%): Build and manage partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring program targets and donor obligations are met.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • BA/S or equivalent in accounting or finance; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including grants management and USAID regulations.
  • Strong skills in donor relations, compliance, and team management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

2. Position Title: Community Accountability Reporting Mechanism Officer (Hotline Operator)

  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa
  • Open Position: 1
  • Safeguarding Risk Level: High

Program / Department Summary:

The CARM Officer will manage the call center operations for Mercy Corps, handling community feedback and complaints through a hotline system, ensuring confidentiality and proper escalation.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical: Manage and record incoming calls and texts, escalate cases, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Managing Phone Calls: Ensure feedback is handled confidentially and referred to relevant departments within 24 hours.
  • Contributing to Program Qualities: Provide well-recorded community feedback for program improvement and policy advocacy.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree in communication, social sciences, development studies, or management.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience, with community engagement preferred.
  • Proficiency in Amharic, English, and at least two regional languages.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
