Position: Office Engineer

Location: Gelan, Addis Ababa

General Job Description:
The Office Engineer is responsible for providing technical and administrative information to ensure that the project complies with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. The role includes troubleshooting engineering-related installation problems and ensuring that the site is supplied with all necessary documentation, methods, and materials.

Detailed Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare construction method statements, risk assessments, and develop work methods.
  • Prepare temporary works drawings and site-related design drawings.
  • Develop job safety analysis and follow up on permanent work design, coordinating with the site.
  • Coordinate daily with subcontractors and assist in preparing work requisitions for subcontracted works.
  • Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets for offers received from subcontractors and follow up on subcontracted works, including payment applications.
  • Prepare work requisitions for all required permanent materials and follow up on the approval process.
  • Track deliveries and invoicing of permanent materials.
  • Maintain daily work tickets, track and manage change orders, and keep organized and detailed project records.
  • Obtain permits, badges, and access requests in advance and assist with preparing change orders.
  • Participate in Key Project Review and perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years as an Office Engineer.
  • Special Skills and Knowledge:
  • Significant experience and detailed practical knowledge in planning, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to summarize data logically.
