Kerchanshe Trading is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in Ethiopia, specializing in coffees sourced from Yirgacheffe, Lekempti, Gimbi, Djimma, and Sidamo. 1. Senior Internal Auditor

Location: Addis Ababa

Job Purpose:

Responsible for conducting transactional, complex, and sensitive audits to ensure the company’s operations align with its policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make recommendations on systems and procedures reviewed.
  • Report findings and recommendations, and monitor management’s response and implementation.
  • Identify and assess financial risks related to financial statements, operations, and compliance.
  • Develop audit programs to test internal controls and identify areas of improvement.
  • Prepare audit reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Interact with management and stakeholders to address audit findings promptly.
  • Ensure external auditors’ comments are addressed by relevant departments.
  • Perform audit procedures to verify controls through testing and interviews.
  • Inspect transactions and documents for accuracy and legitimacy.
  • Analyze and conclude on the effectiveness and efficiency of control systems.
  • Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee documentation of audit work according to standards.
  • Prepare and present timely audit reports.
  • Provide advice on internal control and enhance audit standards and practices.
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Identify recurring irregularities and assist in providing remedial actions.
  • Stay updated on the latest auditing standards and practices.
  • Prepare periodic summary reports.
  • Supervise and mentor junior auditors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Degree: BA or MA in Accounting, Accounting and Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years for MA and 5 years for BA.
  • Relevant Exposures:
  • Internal audit experience, preferably in coffee exporters, PLCs, and share companies.
  • Knowledge in Tax, Customs, Labor Proclamations, Regulations, and Directives.
  • Strong skills in creditors and debtors accounts reconciliations.
