1. Intern – Program Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Salary: $216

Job Summary:
The female-only internship program is a one-year program aimed at empowering young female graduates and improving the organization’s gender parity. It offers opportunities to apply knowledge, enhance skills through mentoring and coaching, expand professional networks, work on value-added projects, gain hands-on experience, and understand organizational differences.

The Program Officer Intern will assist in implementing the UPLIFT HER project activities. This project aims to improve comprehensive and inclusive gender and adolescent responsive primary SRHN services in the West and East Hararghe zones of Oromia and Afar regions of Ethiopia.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • BA in sociology/social work, public health, nutrition/food security/livelihoods, gender, and related fields.
  • Female fresh graduates of 2023-2024.
  • Zero years of work experience.

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Good written and verbal skills in Amharic and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Firm belief in gender equality and sensitivity to vulnerable groups.
  • Team player, flexible, and able to work in a multicultural setting.
  • Quick learning ability, communication, and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, sociology, development, social studies, and related fields.
  • Female fresh graduates of 2023-2024.
  • Zero years of work experience.
