Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. Islamic Relief Ethiopia (IRE) officially started its operations in Ethiopia in 2004. IRE is operational in the Somali Regional State, Afar Regional State, Oromia Regional State, and Addis Ababa.
1. Logistics Assistant
Skill and Educational Background:
- Diploma in Management/Purchasing and Supplies Management or related fields.
- 2 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in development organizations.
- Negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management skills.
- High ethical standards and ability to plan, prioritize, and organize self and others.
- Good IT skills, including MS Office applications.
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to translate strategic plans into action.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Afan Oromo is preferable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.

2. Cashier
Skill and Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting.
- At least 2 or 3 years of experience respectively, preferably in an NGO environment.
Skills and Competences:
- Proven experience in cash management, preferably in development organizations.
- Ability to work with financial software; knowledge of AX dynamics ERP system is an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office applications.
- Well-developed interpersonal and team skills with proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
- Good written and spoken English and local language (Afan Oromo) is mandatory.
- Good communication, public and interpersonal relations.
- Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and action and trustworthy.
Duty Station: Chiro
3. Driver
Skill and Educational Background:
- Completion of secondary education.
- Valid 3rd grade driving license.
- 2 years of previous related work experience with non-governmental organizations.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Excellent oral and written communications in English.
- Must reside in and share experience, language, and/or culture of the community to be served.
- Good written and spoken English and local language (Afan Oromo) is mandatory.
- Well-developed interpersonal and team skills with proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
- Basic working knowledge of IR operational area.
- Sympathy with the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and action.
