The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is established by Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. ECMA’s objective is to ensure a fair, efficient, and orderly capital market environment for the issuance and trading of securities.
ECMA grants licenses for securities exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing companies, capital market service providers, over-the-counter trading facilities, and other regulated activities. It also oversees trading in primary and secondary markets, the use of electronic trading platforms for securities, and activities of self-regulatory organizations.
Position: Executive Assistant
Skill and Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Secretarial Science, or a related field from an accredited institution
- 6 years of relevant working experience

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Director General and Deputy Director General’s office, including tracking diaries, scheduling meetings, drafting memos, and managing external communication.
- Compose and prepare correspondence, acknowledgment letters, and other important memos.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and manage facilities.
- Participate in meetings to take notes for future distribution and follow-up.
- Edit and complete first drafts for written communications to external stakeholders.
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure the General Director and Deputy Director General’s schedule is followed and respected.
- Prioritize and follow up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the Director General Officer, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.
- Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the Director General office and internal departments, maintaining credibility, trust, and support with senior management staff.
- Prioritize conflicting needs, handle matters expeditiously, and proactively follow up projects to successful completion, often under deadline pressures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
