Position: Program Officer, Ethiopia Sustainable Peace Activity
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with substantial fieldwork)

Position Purpose:
The Program Officer will support community-level response initiatives through rapid assessment, project idea development, activity design, and implementation. The role involves direct implementation and working through partnerships, relationship management, monitoring, and documenting lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapid Assessments: Participate in assessments to describe on-ground situations, analyze challenges, and develop potential project ideas.
- Proposal Preparation: Collaborate with the Program Manager and Grants Team to draft proposals and budgets for selected activities.
- Environmental Scanning: Continuously scan the operating environment to ensure response initiatives are aligned with ground realities.
- Activity Implementation: Implement approved activities directly or through subcontractors/grantees.
- Partnership Management: Draft partnering agreements and manage relationships with implementation organizations.
- Program Coordination: Manage and coordinate program implementation.
- Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with CBOs/CSOs, GOs, and other stakeholders.
- Material Procurement: Coordinate with program teams for procurement and delivery of materials to beneficiaries.
- Documentation: Assist in documenting key successes, lessons, and case studies with the Communications and MERL team.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct monitoring visits, prepare implementation reports, and ensure conflict sensitivity at all stages.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification:
- Basic Requirements: Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Specialized Job Requirements: Maintain open and cordial relationships with CBOs/CSOs, GOs, and other stakeholders to support smooth coordination and implementation of activities.
