Financial Controller

Organization: Menschen für Menschen Foundation
Location: Program Coordination Office, Addis Ababa (with frequent field work)
Salary: Negotiable
Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of financial and operational processes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings.
  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance risk management and control measures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal audit plans and programs.
  • Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BA in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in a similar industry or reputable audit firm as an Auditor or in a similar role. Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication and sociability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Accounting

Language:

  • A good command of speaking and writing English
