The organization has been operational in Ethiopia since 2009, implementing various activities, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.
1. Protection Officer – PSS (Psychosocial Support)

Job Summary:
The Protection Officer – PSS is responsible for providing compassionate, trauma-informed psychosocial support and services to individuals, families, and groups facing challenging life circumstances. The officer works closely with clients to assess their needs, develop care plans, and coordinate access to relevant community resources and mental health services. This position plays a crucial role in promoting the overall well-being and resilience of clients.
Skill and Educational Background:
- Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in a related field.
- Experience in providing psychosocial support-related activities in humanitarian organizations.
- Previous experience working with IDPs and returnees is preferable.
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; proficiency in Activity Info and other data collection/analysis tools is desirable.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or other related fields from a recognized institution.
- Language:
- Proficient in English.
- Knowledge of the local language is an advantage.
