Position 1: Terms of Reference Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation

Key Tasks:

  • Technical and Research Support:
  • Provide complete technical and administrative help for the analysis undertaking’s implementation.
  • Offer experience in developing evaluation instruments, methodologies, coaching tips, and other research-related materials.
  • Coordinate closely with local health authorities, UNICEF, MoH, and LSHTM to ensure smooth research implementation.
  • Data Collection and Management:
  • Oversee data collection activities to ensure strict adherence to established protocols.
  • Train and supervise field data collectors and enumerators, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
  • Maintain data quality through regular monitoring and validation checks.
  • Operational Support:
  • Collaborate effectively with implementation partners and regional, zonal, and woreda health offices.
  • Conduct regular reviews with the research team to assess progress and address challenges.
  • Develop and adapt work plans to respond to the evolving needs of the research.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the research undertaking.
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress reports.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • MPH in Nutrition or health-related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing large-scale field studies, particularly in research and cohort studies.
  • Familiarity with micronutrient supplementation programs and adherence measurement methods.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong personal motivation and willingness to travel to study sites/districts (more than 50% of the time).
  • Willing to participate in other academic activities within the department.

Position 2: Voucher for Treatment Trial (V4T) Research Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical and Research Support:
  • Provide complete technical and administrative help for the research undertaking’s implementation.

  • Train and supervise field data collectors.
  • Operational Support:
  • Collaborate with implementation partners and health offices.

  • Reporting and Dissemination:
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress reports.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • Familiarity with the CMAM program in Ethiopia is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA).

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong personal motivation and willingness to travel to study sites/districts (more than 50% of the time).

Position 3: Terms of Reference Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) Statistician and Data Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Management:
  • Develop and maintain databases to store research data.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and accuracy of data.
  • Oversee data entry processes, ensuring data is accurately recorded and stored.
  • Implement and maintain data quality control measures.
  • Assess database performance and identify problem areas.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide expertise in the design of evaluation tools and methodologies.
  • Guide data collection procedures to ensure they are statistically sound.
  • Train field staff and data collectors on data management protocols.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed statistical reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Ensure all data management and analysis activities comply with ethical guidelines and standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with the research team, local health authorities, UNICEF, MoH, and LSHTM.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in statistical analysis and data management in public health research.
  • Proven expertise in managing large-scale field studies and handling complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with micronutrient supplementation programs is an asset.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
