Salary: $10,920 – $12,480 gross/annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Fixed Term (until December 2026, subject to funding availability)


About the Role

GAIN is seeking a dedicated Project Officer for the Dairy Access for the Better Dairy For All Project. This role involves supporting the coordination of project activities, ensuring the project’s success and progress, and working closely with the project manager, coordinator, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned activities and track progress and deliverables from project partners.
  • Coordinate and schedule project review meetings; document findings and recommendations.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager or Coordinator on course corrections and change requests.
  • Regularly update PRISM to ensure accurate project/activity documentation.
  • Collate and compile data to identify emerging issues and track project progress against milestones.
  • Assist in preparing donor reports in collaboration with project teams and support teams.
  • Work with the project accountant to monitor deliverables and payments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

  • Strong writing skills, with analytical capacity to synthesize project outputs for quality reports.
  • Understanding of gender and protection dynamics in humanitarian and development work.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, including local partners, authorities, community groups, civil society, and the private sector.
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages and web-based management systems.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, gender, child safety, and staff health and wellbeing principles.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain management, dairy technology, applied human nutrition, development, economics, or related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Experience in the dairy sector and dairy access in the Amhara region is advantageous.
  • Experience in the dairy supply chain.
  • Previous experience with dairy supplier business and recording systems, including financial administration.
  • Proven ability to execute administrative tasks timely.
  • Experience in delivering a range of project management and support services under tight deadlines is desirable.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural or international environment is desirable.
