FAO Internship Program 2024

Overview:

The FAO Internship Programme is designed to provide a learning opportunity for talented young individuals who are passionate about contributing their perspectives, ideas, and research experience to FAO’s work. Selected interns will gain practical work experience related to FAO’s mandate and programmes, while also enhancing their understanding of FAO’s Strategic Framework and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of FAO Members.
  • Education: Candidates must be enrolled in an under-graduate or graduate degree programme at a recognized educational institution, or recent graduates.
  • Languages: Working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is required. Knowledge of a second official language is an asset.
  • Age: Candidates should be aged between 21 and 30 at the start of their internship.
  • Skills: Adaptability to an international multicultural environment, good communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer programmes.
  • Residence/Visa status: Candidates should have appropriate residence or immigration status in the country of assignment prior to the start of the internship.
  • Family relation: Candidates with immediate family members employed by FAO are not eligible.

Duration:

The duration of an internship assignment is between 3 and 11 months.
