1. Internship in Different Assignments in Local and International Seed Companies

Location: Different parts of the country

Duration: Three to Six months of internship assignment

Job Description:

Stichting Wageningen Research (SWR) is an international NGO registered in Ethiopia since March 2021 with the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations. SWR, through its Ethiopia Netherland Seed Partnership (ENSP), aims to enhance the capacity of fresh and recent graduates in seed-related fields of study and create market opportunities for them. The internship program is designed to provide young professionals with practical learning experience, access to employment opportunities, and exposure to the seed sector.

Duties and Responsibilities of Interns:

  • Participate in pre, follow-up, and on-the-job trainings
  • Gain a good understanding of the organization’s mission, values, and operations
  • Undertake assignments given by the host organization
  • Develop existing skills and learn new experiences relevant to their career
  • Work in a dynamic and multicultural environment to broaden professional networks

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Recent graduate from a recognized university in fields such as Horticulture, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Marketing, and Crop Production
  • Graduates from Agricultural TVETs who have passed the CoC assessment of level IV
  • Interested in learning and working in the seed sector
  • Applicants should have a confirmation letter from host organizations stating willingness to provide internship placement for 3-6 months
  • Able to undertake the required internship training
  • Willing to participate in the internship program on a full-time basis
  • Not previously participated in any internship program
