Position: Finance and Administrative Assistant
Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance and Administration Officer, the Finance and Admin Assistant will be responsible for timely completion of finance and administration support services, ensuring compliance with standards and efficient management of project financial resources within donor expectations and organizational requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Handle daily and monthly cash control.
- Prepare and review cash payments.
- Record daily cash transactions.
- Prepare checks, handle petty cash, and effect payments.
- Manage project office advances and payments for activities.
- Maintain and organize finance documents.
- Work with Senior Finance and Admin Officer for smooth operation and compliance.
- Assist in maintaining accounting records and monthly report preparation.
- Handle income tax and pension settlements.
- Prepare and review supporting documents for financial transactions.
Administration and Office Management:
- Ensure timely settlement of monthly project office utility bills.
- Efficiently run day-to-day office facilities.
- Maintain stock of office supplies and stationery.
- Handle hotel reservations, flight bookings, and transport arrangements.
- Dispatch outgoing letters and perform other relevant tasks.
- Undertake other duties deemed appropriate by the line manager.
Skill and Educational Background:
- BA degree in Accounting and Finance or Management with a minimum of 2 years of NGO financial management and/or accounting experience.
- Proven experience in managing accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of internal control systems and procedures.
- Self-motivated with excellent teamwork skills.
- Computer literate with advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
- Ability to take initiative, work with limited supervision, and maintain high performance under pressure.
Salary: ETB 15,135 up to 24,254 ETB
