Principal Internal Auditor

Job Summary:
The Principal Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the bank’s internal control, risk management, and governance systems. The role also involves implementing the Department’s Risk-Based Audit Plan and ensuring proper inspection and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare audit engagement plans and evaluate documents supporting audit results.
  • Follow up on audit cases and auditee responses.
  • Assess the bank’s internal control and governance systems.
  • Supervise inspection assignments across operational areas.
  • Ensure proper safeguarding of bank assets.
  • Maintain quality audit/inspection reports.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/B.Sc. Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Finance and Auditing, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year as a Senior Officer or Professional/Expert.

Location: Addis Ababa
