Hybrid Designs PLC is an Ethiopian software development company founded in December 2014 by entrepreneur and computer scientist Samrawit Fikru. The company is renowned for developing RIDE, a ridesharing service aimed at enhancing transportation safety and convenience in Ethiopia. Initially launched as an SMS-based service, RIDE transitioned to a mobile app in 2017, authorizing thousands of taxi drivers across the country.

Hybrid Designs PLC is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:


1. Senior Accountant

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards in posting and classifying transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and financial data.

2. Program Finance Assistant

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management and disbursement activities within an NGO setting.
  • Strong knowledge of project funding and donor compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support financial reporting for the Mastercard Foundation program.
  • Manage accounts payable, receivable, and financial transactions.
  • Conduct financial verification of consortium partners.
  • Assist in budget tracking, cash forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Participate in audits and procurement process meetings.

3. Market Development Officer

Location: Addis Ababa

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in market and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute awareness campaigns for Hybrid Designs’ programs.
  • Develop marketing materials and promotional content.
  • Conduct market assessments and create new market opportunities.
  • Strengthen public-private partnerships and foster sustainable market growth.
  • Provide training and support for entrepreneurs in business planning.
