Hybrid Designs PLC is an Ethiopian software development company founded in December 2014 by entrepreneur and computer scientist Samrawit Fikru. The company is renowned for developing RIDE, a ridesharing service aimed at enhancing transportation safety and convenience in Ethiopia. Initially launched as an SMS-based service, RIDE transitioned to a mobile app in 2017, authorizing thousands of taxi drivers across the country.
Hybrid Designs PLC is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
1. Senior Accountant
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards in posting and classifying transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and financial data.
2. Program Finance Assistant
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management and disbursement activities within an NGO setting.
- Strong knowledge of project funding and donor compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support financial reporting for the Mastercard Foundation program.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and financial transactions.
- Conduct financial verification of consortium partners.
- Assist in budget tracking, cash forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
- Participate in audits and procurement process meetings.
3. Market Development Officer
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in market and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute awareness campaigns for Hybrid Designs’ programs.
- Develop marketing materials and promotional content.
- Conduct market assessments and create new market opportunities.
- Strengthen public-private partnerships and foster sustainable market growth.
- Provide training and support for entrepreneurs in business planning.
