African Union (AU) Job Vacancy Announcement

The African Union (AU) is a continental organization composed of 55 member states. Established in 2001, the AU is committed to promoting unity, peace, and socio-economic integration across Africa. The AU is currently seeking qualified and experienced individuals for the following positions:


1. Technical Officer – Diagnostic Access

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, Doctor of Medicine (MD), or related field with 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or related field with 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Managerial experience is not required but considered an advantage.

2. Assistant Finance Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience in national or international organizations.

3. Senior Finance Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting with 10 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Certification in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) is an advantage.

4. Senior Technical Officer for Public Health Emergency Preparedness and IHR Core Capacity Development

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field with 7 years of relevant experience in emergency preparedness and response programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field with 10 years of relevant experience.

5. Technical Officer – Community Health Systems

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Epidemiology, or related health discipline with 5 years of experience.
  • Advanced degree in Public Health or related field with 2 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of health systems strengthening, public health programs, and experience working with government ministries and donors.

6. Administrative Assistant

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Office Management, Business Administration, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Diploma in Office Management or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in partnership development or project settings and proven office management skills is an added advantage.

7. Finance Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management, Accounting, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years at a supervisory level.
    • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or CIMA are an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of IPSAS and ERP/SAP systems is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Financial Management or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
