1. Junior Attorney
Purpose of the Job:
Assist in foreclosure and litigation proceedings, safeguard the Bank’s interests, and handle loan litigation, foreclosure, and criminal cases.
Generic Functions:
- Provide assistance in unit activities.
- Maintain important files and records properly.
- Collaborate in teamwork and adhere to internal controls.
- Implement corrective actions for raised deficiencies.
Specific Functions:
- Assist in foreclosure processes.
- Review and approve pleadings and memoranda of appeal.
- Represent the Bank in court cases if necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Qualification: LLB in Law or related fields.
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in the banking sector.
Place of Work: Bahir Dar, Dessie, Gondar.
2. Senior Attorney
Purpose of the Job:
Handle complex legal matters related to debt, including loan litigation, foreclosure, and criminal cases. Represent the Bank in all court levels and tribunals.
Generic Functions:
- Act as Division Manager in their absence.
- Mentor and enable junior staff.
- Represent the Bank’s corporate image and values.
Specific Functions:
- Represent the Bank in court or tribunals.
- Follow up on court orders and advise on defaulting loans.
- Prepare legal notices for loan settlements.
Job Requirements:
- Qualification: LLB in Law or related fields.
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking, with at least 2 years in an officer position.
Place of Work: Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Dessie, Gondar.
