Doctors with Africa CUAMM, an international NGO established in 1950 and operating in Ethiopia since 1980, invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant positions:
Position: Accountant
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and donor/organization guidelines.
- Manage payments through cash, cheques, and bank transfers.
- Document expenses, including invoices and receipts, with detailed records.
- Update project accounting systems (Lotus) and ensure monthly settlement of government obligations.
- Reconcile bank, cash, and journal voucher statements monthly.
- Manage and maintain petty cash.
- Scan and upload all relevant financial documents to the drive by the 15th of each month.
- Maintain updated staff folders, including contracts, leave requests, and attendance records.
- Oversee vehicle, motorbike, and generator log sheets.
- Prepare procurement documents and track purchases and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements for supportive documents.
- Assist project managers, country administrators, and finance managers as needed.
- Prepare financial documents for audit processes.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.
Job Requirements
- Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant role.
- Skills:
- Proficient in English communication.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel).
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Preferred: Experience in humanitarian organizations (INGOs) is an advantage.
