Position: Cost Recovery Officer
About the Opportunity
The Cost Recovery Officer is responsible for ensuring cost recovery from active grants on a monthly basis. The role involves setting up grants and cost centers on the financial system, carrying out cost apportionments, and ensuring compliance with Plan International’s cost recovery policies. The officer will coordinate with the finance team on cost classifications, maintain accurate staff salary funding matrices, and manage submissions to the treasury unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure grants and cost centers are properly set up for cost apportionment.
- Carry out cost recovery processes in line with organizational policies.
- Support cost classification development in collaboration with the finance team.
- Maintain accurate and timely salary funding matrices.
- Ensure adherence to Plan International’s safeguarding and gender equality policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education
- BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial management.
- At least 2 years of experience working directly with donor budgets.
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic understanding of financial and grant management roles.
- Knowledge of cost recovery processes and principles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and budgeting functions.
- Integrated understanding of grant accounting practices and procedures.
Safeguarding and Inclusion Responsibilities
- Uphold Plan International’s Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.
- Ensure team members are inducted on safeguarding and gender equality policies.
- Promote safeguarding practices and ensure relevant reporting and data submission.
