Key Responsibilities:

Position 2: OSP Expert

Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Executive Head of Department, Safaricom is looking for an experienced OSP Project Coordinator to join our team. This role involves preparing weekly reports, monitoring project progress, raising Purchase Requests/Orders (PRs/POs), verifying Bills of Quantities (BOQs), conducting/coordinating weekly vendor meetings, and collaborating with various company departments to ensure smooth project execution. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, specifically in the telecom industry (Mobile/Fiber Service provider), attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:

  • Reports to Deployment OSP Project Manager: Work closely with other OSP team leaders.
  • Prepare Weekly Reports: Generate tailored weekly reports that track project performance, progress, and key deliverables. Use project management tools to provide insights, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Monitor Project Progress: Continuously monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the project stays on schedule and meets objectives. Report any deviations or risks to the project manager and team.
  • Raise and Track Purchase Requests (PRs): Facilitate the procurement process by initiating PRs for materials, equipment, and services needed for the project. Ensure all PRs align with the project scope and contractor price books. Track Purchase Order (PO) status for each supplier.

Must Have Technical/Professional Qualifications:

  • Skills:
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage under pressure.
