Position: Accountant (ACC)
Location:
- Harar, Ethiopia
Job Details:
- Responsible to: Project Manager
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Number of Positions: 1
- Contract Duration: 1 year, with possible extension
- Salary: 29,055 ETB per month
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project budgets, align with funding rules, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Monitor financial performance, prepare reports, and alert project leaders on any deviations.
- Work closely with partners and the university’s finance department, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Review payment requests and disbursements, and ensure expenses align with project agreements.
- Participate in financial statements preparation, and assist in implementing internal controls.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- MA in Accounting and Finance or MBA (Bachelor’s degree must be in Accounting) with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Or a BA Degree in Accounting with 6 years of experience in NGO, project, or government finance.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Windows, and Excel.
- Ability to compose professional communication and manage financial records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in finance roles within NGOs or project environments.
- Integrity, honesty, and a strong service orientation.
