The organization is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged communities through enhanced access to health, education, income generation, environmental conservation, WaSH, humanitarian response, and peacebuilding initiatives.
Job Summary:
The Safety and Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees, capital assets, and information within the organization. This role requires designing and implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, developing emergency evacuation strategies, and collaborating with HR on internal investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain security protocols, policies, and strategies to mitigate security risks.
- Ensure workplace safety and physical security of employees and the work area.
- Oversee executive protection by arranging secure accommodations and transportation for employees during travel.
- Perform security risk assessments, tests, and implement countermeasures.
- Lead educational programs to empower staff to recognize and respond to security threats.
- Create and disseminate security procedure materials.
- Collaborate with HR on internal security-related investigations.
- Manage emergency planning and disaster recovery strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a related field, with special training in law enforcement (e.g., military or police).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in security management or consultative roles.
- Previous experience with NGOs/INGOs and in conflict or post-conflict environments is highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle stress and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Strong computer skills and multi-tasking abilities.
