About the Role:
The Area Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership for Concern Worldwide’s programme in the Tigray Region. This includes representing the organization to regional authorities, donors, UN agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders, managing the regional team, and overseeing operations (admin/logistics/finance). The role also includes responsibility for security management and supporting the design and implementation of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Concern Worldwide’s programme and team in the Tigray region.
- Represent the organization with key stakeholders at regional and local levels.
- Manage security risks and ensure the safety of staff and operations.
- Lead the development of regional strategies and design new projects/programmes.
- Ensure effective implementation of ongoing programmes.
- Manage multiple grants and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Foster strong relationships and networks with stakeholders.
- Contribute to capacity building and quality programme implementation.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development/humanitarian studies, or related field.
- Experience: 5-7 years relevant experience, with at least 3 years at a management level within an NGO.
- Proven skills in leadership, team management, logistics, procurement, and financial management.
- Experience in managing grants and external representation.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Fluency in English, with solid experience in report and proposal writing.
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation concepts.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
