The Bank of Abyssinia Employers Association is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

1. Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting transactions.
  • Record daily sales transactions and expenses using Peachtree software.
  • Reconcile and post subsidiary ledgers with general ledgers.
  • Prepare and verify cash payments and receipts, ensuring proper documentation.
  • File and declare monthly taxes, including income tax, pension contributions, withholding tax, VAT, and others.
  • Maintain and control inventory records, reconciling accounts for accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare regular reports for inventory valuation and manage employee payroll.
  • Monitor daily cash flow and maintain fixed asset records.
  • Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of direct experience, preferably in merchandising, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and Ethiopian tax laws.
  • Proficiency in Peachtree Accounting software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Self-confidence and time management skills.
