1. User Relationship & Asset Management Officer

  • Salary: As per the company scale
  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa
  • Division: Information System Management
  • Duration: 10 consecutive working days from the date of vacancy announcement

Purpose of the Job:

To ensure the acquisition of quality and cost-effective information system solutions, maintain detailed inventory of the Corporate and BUs’ assets, and apply the gathered information in making the best decisions regarding IT-related purchases by building and maintaining good vendor/supplier relationships, assuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle IT incidents reported from Corporate/BUs-wide departments/divisions in adherence to IT policies and procedures.
  • Escalate unresolved IS incidents to the respective Information Systems Function.
  • Identify problem trends and troubleshoot recurring issues until permanent solutions are found.
  • Install and update antivirus software on networked computers.
  • Request and maintain an adequate supply of parts and repair materials.
  • Test and verify hardware/peripherals to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate IT records of discussions or correspondence with BUs.
  • Act as the primary contact for IT service support-related functions for BUs.
  • Participate in desktop OS installations, upgrades, and printer support.
  • Configure mail clients and troubleshoot mail client-related issues.
  • Support the installation and service of photocopiers and their connection to computers.
  • Maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports related to asset and configuration management.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to analyze asset performance trends.
  • Assist procurement staff in negotiating with vendors for cost-effective IT solutions.
  • Maintain vendor performance records regarding quality, capacities, systems, and responsiveness.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Education: MA/MSc or BA/BSc degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related fields.
  • Experience:
  • 0 years of demonstrated experience for MA/MSc degree holders
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience for BA/BSc degree holders
  • Hands-on experience in IT management within a business environment is an asset.
