1. Emergency Project Manager: WASH and S/NFI
- Location: Addis Ababa, Oromia, with frequent travel to intervention areas
- Contract Type: Ten months with the possibility of extension Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, monitor, and provide technical oversight and support for WASH and ESNFI projects.
- Build the capacity of WASH and ESNFI staff and local government stakeholders in Oromia Emergency Response.
- Conduct assessments, provide technical support, and oversee emergency responses.
- Coordinate with regional authorities, WASH, and ESNFI clusters.
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of WASH and ESNFI distribution projects. Qualifications:
- University degree/MSc in Water Resource Engineering, Environmental Health/Public Health, Hydraulic Engineering, or related fields.
- 4+ years of experience in WASH and S/NFI in humanitarian settings for a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years for a postgraduate degree.
- At least 2 years of managerial experience.
- Proficiency in English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic.
- Experience with emergency WASH and S/NFI, data analysis software (e.g., Arc GIS, SPSS), and engineering software (e.g., Watercad, Epanet, Auto CAD).
- Strong communication, coordination, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel and work in challenging environments.
2. WASH/Shelter Officer
- Location: Oromia, with frequent travel to Zones/Woredas
- Number of Positions: 02 (two)
- Contract Type: 6 months with the possibility of extension Key Responsibilities:
- Implement emergency WASH and S/NFI activities in affected communities.
- Identify priority needs, provide emergency water rationing, and address sanitation and hygiene gaps.
- Mobilize communities, ensure quality and quantity of WASH activities, and participate in cluster meetings and assessments.
- Rehabilitate water and sanitation facilities, distribute WASH NFIs, and conduct hygiene and sanitation promotions.
- Monitor and evaluate the project in affected communities. Qualifications:
- Degree or above in Water Supply Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Public Health/Environmental Health, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience managing water supply systems and sanitation facilities in rural communities.
- Experience with hygiene approaches (e.g., CLTSH, PHAST) and emergency WASH projects.
- Proficiency in English, Afan Oromo, and Amharic.
- Strong teamwork, computer skills, and knowledge of AAP and water supply system design.
- Experience in community mobilization and training facilitation is a plus.
