Position: Intern Logistics
Location: Assosa, Ethiopia

About NRC:

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is actively engaged in Ethiopia, providing essential support to refugees and internally displaced people across four regions. NRC’s Assosa Operation focuses on assisting displaced populations in three refugee camps in the Assosa Zone and IDP/Returnees’ sites in Assosa, Kamashi, and Metekel. Their services include Food Security & Livelihoods, Education, Shelter, WASH, and Information Counselling & Legal Assistance (ICLA).

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the supplier database at the area office.
  • Ensure full compliance with NRC procurement policies and procedures, maintaining transparency and accurate documentation.
  • Manage procurement processes via Agresso, including receiving, registering, preparing requisitions, checking Purchase Requisitions, raising RFQs and purchase orders, and updating status reports.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services, and equipment.
  • Prepare and submit monthly procurement reports to the line manager.
  • Support all procurement process activities at the area office, in collaboration with the logistics officer.
  • Coordinate with stores to collect and organize documents according to the NRC procurement checklist.
  • Assist in resource administration to achieve deliverables within set budgets, timelines, and standards.

Job Requirements:

Generic Professional Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines.
  • 0 years of work experience (Fresh graduates).
  • Proficiency in oral and written English and Amharic; knowledge of an additional local language is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve set benchmarks and objectives.
  • Effective communication skills (both vertical and horizontal).

Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including common Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
