Digital Learning Advisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and coordinate the digital learning components of the Medical Excellence Activities.
  • Prepare and implement the approved annual plan and budget for the digital learning activities.
  • Represent EMA before third parties.
  • Assess and identify the digital learning needs of faculty, medical schools, and CPD providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital learning activities in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation officer of EMA.
  • Work closely with medical school deans and CPD providers to enhance digital learning activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all reports related to digital learning.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives and recommend improvements.

Advising Digital Learning:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops on digital learning tools and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers to create engaging online courses and materials.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for digital learning platforms.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in digital education.
  • Design and develop online courses and modules for healthcare professionals in digital health.
  • Adapt existing face-to-face CPD programs into online formats.
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Monitor and analyze LMS usage data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Design and develop digital tools and platforms to monitor and track healthcare professionals’ CPD activities and progress.
  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to work on the Integrated Human Resource Information System (IHRIS) and ensure EMA accredited CPD centers are trained, access, and utilize IHRIS.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within EMA.
  • Foster strong relationships and promote a conducive work environment.
  • Regularly report the performance of digital learning activities.
  • Collaborate with key staff to ensure the smooth functioning of digital learning.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the association.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Work Unit: Medical Excellence Activity
Reports To: Medical Excellence Activity Project Manager
Duty Station: Addis Ababa with potential travel outside Addis Ababa.
Employment Type: Fixed Term
Position Grade: VII

Education and Qualification:

  • First degree in health professions.
  • Training in digital learning technology, e-learning, health information technology, computer science, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in digital learning and related activities.
  • Strong understanding of Information and Technology principles.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry in Ethiopia and experience working with government and non-government agencies.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Ethiopian Medical Association.
