What We Do:
The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021 as an autonomous Federal Regulatory Authority. One of its major objectives is to ensure a capital market environment where securities can be issued and traded in an orderly, fair, and efficient manner.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of communication strategies.
- Draft press releases, media responses, and coordinate press conference logistics.
- Manage content for ECMA’s website, social media, and newsletters.
- Implement internal communication strategies.
- Assist during investor relation programs.
- Communicate with regulators.
- Coordinate corporate events.
- Support senior officers in budget tracking and reporting.
About You:
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Business Administration, or a related field.

Position 2: Senior Supervision Officer II
Job Summary:
Ensure the proper functioning, integrity, and compliance of capital market service providers and other regulated market participants.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-certification inspection.
- Monitor and supervise market activities.
- Conduct onsite and offsite examinations.
- Conduct surveillance activities.
- Lead investigations into suspicious activities.
- Prepare reports on market surveillance findings.
- Collaborate with market participants and legal experts.
- Recommend and implement enforcement actions.
- Evaluate potential risks to market integrity.
- Develop and enhance market surveillance policies.
- Utilize advanced technology tools for market surveillance.
- Analyze market data and trends.
- Provide compliance guidance to intermediaries.
About You:
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Economics, Management, Accounting and Finance, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in regulatory compliance, risk assessments, audits, or investigations in financial institutions.

Position 3: Sr. Strategy and Change Management Officer I
Statement of the Purpose:
Drive the development of the authority’s strategy and planning process based on evolving market conditions and assess organizational performance against strategic KPIs.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Involve in strategic planning and monitoring activities.
- Oversee development and updates of operational policies and procedures.
- Assess and approve hardware and software purchase decisions.
- Evaluate cybersecurity mechanisms.
- Lead strategic digital transformation projects.
- Oversee IT software and hardware acquisitions.
- Explore automation solutions.
- Initiate process improvement activities.
- Manage contractual relations with technology vendors.
- Implement change management interventions.
- Prepare and present reports in English and Amharic.
