1. ERD Project Manager

Location: Hargelle, Somali

Job Overview:
IRC is planning to undertake integrated and comprehensive lifesaving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Health, Nutrition, cash assistance, livelihoods support, Protection, and Agriculture response interventions for flood and drought-affected IDPs and host communities in the Afder Zones of the Somali region, Ethiopia. This role will support IRC’s mission to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the impact of disasters by helping people in need become more self-reliant.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Degree: BA/BSc or MA/MSc in Social Science fields, International Development, Agriculture, Economics, Disaster Risk Management, or related relevant field.
  • Experience: 4 years of proven experience with a first degree and 3 years of experience for postgraduates. At least 1 year of managerial experience. NGO experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proposal and report writing skills.
  • Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership capacity in management of field teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in sustainable livelihoods and resilience programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to manage and work through change proactively.
  • Language Skills: Proficient spoken and written English is mandatory; Somali language is advantageous.

2. Clinical Nurse Officer

Location: Gota-Biki, Afar

Job Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Officer, under the direct supervision of the Health and Nutrition Team Leader, is responsible for overseeing the project at Charati Woreda of Afder zone and Gota Biki and Erer Woredas of Siti zone. They will support the HCs and Hospitals with Clinical Nurse activities and other project-related tasks.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Degree: BSc/Diploma in Nursing or Public Health (Senior Clinical/Public Nurse or above).
  • Experience: Minimum one year for postgraduates, two years for degree holders, and five years for diploma holders, with at least two years directly related to emergency health and nutrition.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge, training, and experience in clinical case management at HCs and Hospitals.
  • IYCF and community mobilization/BCC.
  • Program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Peer group training, Training of Trainers, and development of training materials.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; local language is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Language Skills: English language proficiency is mandatory; local language is advantageous.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Professional licenses and other relevant training certificates are advantageous.
