Huawei Technologies Ethiopia PLC is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the following position:
Position: Customs Clearance Manager
Job Descriptions:
- Ensure compliance with all customs and government agency regulations.
- Manage customer relationships, including tracking shipment status and maintaining a cordial relationship for future business opportunities.
- Build effective relationships with customs authorities and customers.
- Execute tasks as per the operations department’s requirements.
- Maintain registers and reports for Import and Export Operations.
- Coordinate with international transporters, shippers, and consignees for effective deliveries and handovers.
- Communicate and correspond with customers and suppliers.
- Send pre-alerts, pre-advice, and arrival notices; ensure timely issuance of delivery orders, clearance, and delivery of shipments.
- Handle corporate customers and accounts.
- Manage the Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) process and maintain relationships with related entities such as banks, SEGUS, and BIVAC.
- Ensure that all internal/external audits comply with regulations and rules.
- Monitor all department KPIs related to customs clearance.
- Ensure that all company and customer authorizations are valid and kept up to date.
Work Arrangement:
- The Customs Clearance Manager will manage customs and corporate compliance across the company, focusing on Import/Export operations.
- Assist company customers with the Import/Export clearance process, providing expert advice to ensure smooth operations.
- Responsible for daily execution of Import/Export operations in the Congo DRC, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis, particularly in customs-related issues.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of Congo DRC customs clearance Import/Export laws and regulations.
- 5-6 years of experience working in the customs clearance domain.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Open-minded and adaptable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Good communication skills in English and French.
- Preferably knowledgeable about ICT products.
Required Skills:
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Effective communication and sociability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Desired Skills:
- Negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint.
