Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Ethiopia Vacancy Announcements

1. Position: Finance and Administration Manager/Director

  • Location: Addis Ababa
  • Salary: 25,000.00 to 30,000.00 ETB (Based on experience)
  • Duty Station: National Office
  • Reporting to: Executive Director

Skills and Educational Background:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a local/international NGO
  • Strong financial management and reporting skills, proficiency in accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative work approach
  • Experience in managing teams and leading organizational change
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, commitment to continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with donor compliance requirements and NGO best practices
  • Fluency in English and Amharic; additional language skills are an asset
  • Proficient in financial management software, spreadsheets, and relevant technology
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Commitment to the mission and values of YMCA Ethiopia

2. Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL) Officer

  • Location: Addis Ababa
  • Reporting to: Executive Director
  • Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
  • Salary: 20,000.00 – 25,000.00 ETB (Based on experience)
  • Duty Station: National Office

Job Summary:
The MEAL Officer will provide technical assistance in designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for YMCA Ethiopia projects. Responsibilities include developing and strengthening monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures, and ensuring timely delivery of project activities and achievement of targets, milestones, and reporting.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • Advanced degree in M&E/Project Management, Development Studies, Statistics, or relevant disciplines
  • 2+ years of solid experience in M&E, accountability, and learning in NGOs, familiar with youth-serving organizations
  • Experience working in consortiums/partnership implementation programs
  • Skills in SPSS, STATA, Advanced Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and local languages
  • Experience in strategic planning, needs assessment, program design, logical framework development, selecting indicators, implementing monitoring plans, coordinating evaluations, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated skills in training and M&E capacity development of staff preferred
  • Innovative, vibrant, active, proficient in communication, and an excellent team player

3. Position: Communication and Partnership Specialist

  • Location: Addis Ababa
  • Reporting to: Executive Director
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 ETB (Based on experience)
  • Duty Station: National Office

Job Summary:
The Communication and Partnership Specialist will develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote YMCA Ethiopia’s programs and initiatives domestically and within the broader African YMCA network. This role will also serve as a liaison between YMCA Ethiopia and the African Union, representing the interests of African Alliance YMCAs and facilitating collaboration and partnership opportunities.

Skills and Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communication, stakeholder engagement, or partnership management, preferably in the non-profit or development sector
  • Expertise in developing and executing effective communication strategies using traditional and digital channels
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in IT tools related to communication (Photoshop, Canvas, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the African Union’s structure, policies, and decision-making processes preferred
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of any other official African Union languages (French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish) is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Proven project management and team collaboration skills
