1. Project Coordinator

Location: Somalia, Jigjiga, Ethiopia

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator (PC) will be responsible and accountable for overall project management and coordination, quality programming and results achievement, financial management and compliance, project team management, stakeholder and partner relations, and donor deliverables. Feminist principles of collaboration, participation, transparency, and respect for the agency of women’s organizations will be integrated into all aspects of this role. The PC will develop deep and meaningful partnerships with government structures at various levels, service providers, different work units of PIE, as well as WLOs and local partners at grassroots levels, to enhance the project’s outreach and intended objectives. The PC will also build and maintain links, partnerships, and networks with government bodies to enhance sustainability and ensure evidence generated by the project can scale and influence broader GBV prevention and responses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop partnerships with government structures, service providers, PIE work units, WLOs, and local partners to enhance project outreach and objectives.
  • Maintain links with government bodies to ensure sustainability of structures and mechanisms established under the project.
  • Implement CP, GBV, and SRHR programs according to safe programming principles and standards, policies, SOPs, guidelines, and project agreement documents.
  • Ensure financial management and compliance, quality programming, and results achievement.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • BA/BSc Degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Project Management, Development Studies, or Social Sciences related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of substantial experience, including 3 years in project management in development and humanitarian settings within an INGO environment.
  • Experience managing donor-funded complex and large project budgets (> €1mil).
  • Experience in developing and implementing Child Protection (CP), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Sexual and Reproductive Health related projects.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of development and humanitarian principles, international child protection, CP/GBV, and SRHR policies, strategies, programs, and priorities, and NGO Code of Conduct.
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Somali languages is an additional advantage.
