Team Purpose:
To act with poor people as a force for change in addressing the causes of poverty, suffering, and injustice, and alleviating their symptoms.

Job Purpose:
The IT Officer is responsible for ensuring that Oxfam staff within the country can use information technology and regional information systems, including email, networks, PC, PeopleSoft/OPAL, and other corporate applications.

  • Finance Coordinator (Primary)
  • Senior IT Officer (Matrix Management)

Key Responsibilities

IT Systems and User Support:

  • Manage and maintain computer systems in the Gambella Field office.
  • Ensure all systematic requirements and maintenance of IT systems are in place with regional team support.
  • Maintain IT endpoints and keep track of IT assets in coordination with the logistics team.
  • Administer the Local Area Network and Network Infrastructure.
  • Conduct formal staff inductions and provide application skills training as required.
  • Support staff in implementing and maintaining compliant software and hardware.
  • Coordinate with the Country Senior IT Officer to administer the Ethiopia Service Now stack.
  • Administer IT contracts in Gambella, ensuring timely payments and holding service providers accountable.
  • Resolve IT-related problems for internal customers and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Follow and enforce IS strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
  • Perform tasks flexibly, including working outside business hours when necessary.

Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • 5 years of experience in IT support, troubleshooting, LAN/WAN administration, O365 administration, Active Directory, and cloud computing.
  • Competence in developing and implementing computerized systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving initiative.
  • Ability to follow Oxfam policies and procedures.
  • Team building contribution.
  • User-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
  • Understanding of Oxfam’s aims, values, and humanitarian principles.

Desirable:
