The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) – Ethiopia, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Labor and Skills, is seeking qualified and competent candidates for the following positions on a contractual basis.
1. Program Assistant
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle all program and office activities including management of office materials and equipment, correspondences, and handling of minutes.
- Manage messages, data, reports, and documents from partner organizations and regional cities.
- Organize and analyze performance and field reports from regions.
- Participate in report writing and preparation.
- Assist the coordinator in follow-ups and facilitation of program activities.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and conduct program activities and events.
- Serve as the project’s point person for database management and strategic use of data.
- Develop and maintain systems to track project data.
- Facilitate meetings, schedule venues for workshops, and manage office materials and equipment.
- Handle correspondences, minutes, and attend to project consultants and customers.
- Collect data, information, field reports, and prepare reports.
- Keep project files and documents organized.
- Provide administrative support to the project coordinator and staff.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- BA Degree in Management, Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in program coordination of projects, office management.
- Computer skills including Excel (data management and analysis) and PowerPoint.
- Skills in planning various programs for target audiences.
- Ability to work in a team.

2. IT and Data Management Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure installation and proper functioning of developed client registration and data management software in all WEDP service providers.
- Monitor the logical and physical access of data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Prepare directives to administer user roles, profile, privileges, and access levels.
- Prepare a dictionary of WEDP data for ease of data administration.
- Establish policies and procedures for collecting, validating, and sharing of database.
- Develop privileged accounts for database users and ensure security level assignments.
- Standardize WEDP software utility using standard naming rules, data integrity rules, locking, and auditing.
- Capture previously established database in the developed software.
- Ensure timely updates of the database with new data.
- Develop a practice for data backup and create guidelines for management.
- Supervise the clarity of captured client data and prevent unauthorized software installation.
- Develop internet usage and data downloading policies.
- Track and ensure functionality of OSS PCs used for client registration.
- Ensure data entry staff can work with both desktop and web-based versions of the WEDP software.
- Generate client data reports monthly for WEDP Implementation Committee (WIC) meetings.
- Update the project website regularly.
Qualifications:
- MSc in Computer Science with 4 years of practical experience, or BSc in a similar field with 6 years of experience (MIS, Electrical Engineering).
- Strong knowledge of database administration, SDLC, Restful API, network administration, windows server administration (web server – IIS Express), security skills, database design, systems integration using Internet technologies, database maintenance, and tuning.
- Experience with common commercial databases (including SQL, Oracle).
