Operations Manager
Location: Addis Ababa
Job Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling, and supervising the overall activities of the Department. This includes ensuring efficient savings mobilization, loan screening, approval, disbursement, and timely collection of loans. The role also involves managing mobile money operations, promoting the system to the public, and registering clients through the system. Additionally, the Operations Manager will advise management on savings, credit, and mobile money operation policies, participate in the preparation of the strategic plan and financial budget, and prepare consolidated operational reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise department activities.
- Ensure efficient savings mobilization and loan management.
- Manage mobile money operations and client registration.
- Advise on savings, credits, and mobile money policies.
- Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting.
- Prepare operational reports.
- Mobilize funds from different sources.
- Work with various partners.
- Communicate effectively and promote a team approach.
- Demonstrate technical and managerial ability and sound judgment.
Technical and Other Skills:
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and digital financing.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Experience in mobilizing funds and working with partners.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels.
Skill and Educational Background:
- B.A degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience, with at least two years in an operations/department manager role in financial institutions.
