Position: TSFP Officer
Location: Tehuledere Woreda (Dessie) & Tsagibji (Sekota), Amhara, Ethiopia
Activity Overview:
The TSFP Officer will be responsible for the overall implementation and monitoring of the Therapeutic Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) in designated Woreda. The role involves ensuring the effective delivery of nutrition interventions to malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women, managing field staff, liaising with local health authorities, and maintaining high-quality program standards in line with Save the Children and WFP guidelines.
Role Purpose:
The primary role of the TSFP Officer is to oversee the implementation of TSFP activities at the community and health facility levels. The TSFP Officer ensures the effective delivery of nutritional support services to children and pregnant/lactating women suffering from moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). This includes planning, coordinating, and monitoring TSFP activities to ensure they meet the program objectives and adhere to Save the Children and WFP standards. The TSFP Officer is responsible for providing technical support and guidance to field staff, health workers, and community volunteers, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of TSFP interventions. This role also involves working closely with local government authorities, community leaders, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for the program. The TSFP Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the TSFP reaches the most vulnerable populations and contributes to improving their nutritional status and overall health.
Skill and Educational Background:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing nutrition programs, preferably in an emergency or development context.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of nutrition principles and practices. Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency: Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in Local Language, Amharic, and English, both written and spoken.
Other Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
