SantimPay Financial Solutions S.C invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant position.

1. Accountant

Location: Addis Ababa

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute standard accounting procedures and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and bank reconciliation statements.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Review and analyze financial data and create reports on financial status based on analysis results.
  • Work with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) finance systems.
  • Ensure all cash vouchers and relevant documents are completely signed and authorized.
  • Monitor monthly income and expenditure, providing advice and guidance.
  • Follow up on time sheets and submit for payroll processing.
  • Prepare tax reports such as Payroll tax, Withholding tax, and Pension; ensure timely settlement of these taxes to Federal Tax Authority and regional Bureaus.
  • Manage all bank account operations, including preparation of fund transfers and other bank documents, and monitoring bank accounts.
  • Maintain office inventory records and document purchased and handed over materials.
  • Coordinate year-end closing activities and assist with financial auditing activities, both internal and external.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Maintain a professional filing and retrieval system for the Financial Section and keep information confidential.
  • Coordinate per diem and other workshop/training related payments and report to Management.
  • Maintain petty cash fund and coordinate with the team for timely replenishment.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in other organizational activities and tasks as assigned.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • Education: BA in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including accounting software (Peachtree).
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and well-organized work ethic.
  • Preferably with previous experience in the preparation of financial reports.
