The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is an autonomous federal regulatory authority established by Capital Market Proclamation No 1248/2021. ECMA aims to ensure an orderly, fair, and efficient capital market environment where securities can be issued and traded. ECMA grants licenses, regulates trading in primary and secondary markets, oversees the use of electronic trading platforms, and recognizes self-regulatory organizations.
Position: Finance Officer
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited or recognized learning institution
- 2 years of relevant experience

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and record accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures for accounts payable processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process payments to vendors, including checks, wire transfers, and cash payments
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and vendor information
- Monitor and track expenses to ensure they are within budget and report any variances to management
- Keep and file all financial documents of the authority
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Receive properly registered and signed receipt vouchers, payment vouchers, and deposit slips
- Check, code, and record each voucher and document
- Process and record accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures for accounts receivable processing
- Generate and distribute invoices to customers and follow up on overdue payments
- Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions and customer information
- Monitor and track revenue to ensure it is recognized in accordance with accounting standards and report any variances to management
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable, including accruals and reconciliations
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or disputes
- Process and maintain accurate payroll records for all employees in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll processing, including tax laws and labor laws
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholding
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as required
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and employee information
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve any issues or disputes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
- Assist with month-end close activities related to payroll, including accruals and reconciliations
- Prepare payments by checking all supporting documents
- Properly keep and file all financial documents of the authority
- Perform other related duties as required
