The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a membership-based pan-African Non-Governmental Organisation that operates through 34 National Chapters in sub-Saharan Africa to promote girls’ and women’s education. FAWE’s vision, mission, and goal are all resolute on the well-being of girls’ education. FAWE uses a holistic four-pronged approach to achieve gender equity and equality in education in Africa.

FAWE is currently looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join their team in the following positions:

1. Position: Database Associate

Job Description:

The Database Associate is responsible for developing, maintaining, and upgrading the central and project-specific databases, data gathering, data encoding, conducting data analysis, and supporting the design of various database tools and strategies. Additionally, the Database Associate handles IT-related tasks within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain project-specific databases.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry and updates.
  • Support M&E Officer, program coordinator, and project officer in data collection and storage.
  • Check and ensure the quality of data submitted by field staff.
  • Implement proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures.
  • Perform data analysis and generate data visualization.
  • Conduct IT maintenance and manage database systems.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, MIS, or related field (graduate degree preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, functions, etc.).
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and online data collection platforms.
  • Strong organizational, data collection, and IT skills.
  • Functional oral and written English communication skills.
  • 0-2 years of experience.

2. Position: Administrative Associate

Job Description:

The Administrative Associate will support effective day-to-day administrative functions, including writing and drafting reports and documents.

Key Result Areas:

  • Draft documents, policies, and reports.
  • Support procurement and inventory management.
  • Maintain filing systems and develop administrative process improvements.
  • Coordinate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage travel itineraries and office utilities.

Competencies Required:

  • University degree in Secretarial, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

3. Position: Communication Associate

Job Description:

The Communication Associate undertakes day-to-day communication activities, manages the organization’s internal and external communications, and creates public relations materials to increase visibility among stakeholders.

Main Duties:

  • Manage communication through the organizational website and social media pages.
  • Establish a communication and media unit.
  • Facilitate networking, partnership building, and fundraising efforts.
  • Produce newsletters, audiovisual materials, and field visit reports.
  • Monitor and respond to media and public feedback.
  • Develop communication strategies and public relations materials.

Job Requirements:

  • BA degree in Communications, Public Information, International Relations, English Language and Literature, Journalism/Mass Media/Communications, or related fields.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
