Position: Tax Accountant
Location: Addis Ababa
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review Management Reconciliation File: Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and Post Journals: Handle finance function journals accurately.
- Draft Policies and Procedures: Develop and update financial policies.
- Monitor SAP Compliance: Ensure adherence to SAP system standards.
- Monitor Internal Audit Findings: Ensure audit findings are addressed and closed out.
- Manage Balance Sheet Accounts: Oversee and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Monthly FI Close Procedures: Initiate the close of the accounting ledger for the period.
- Daily Cash Flow Planning: Prepare all internal and external financial reports related to treasury and cash management.
- Provide Financial Advice: Offer guidance to the Manager on cash management and investments.
- Review Cash Flow Requirements: Ensure funds availability to meet operational needs.
- Prepare Forecasts: Project company cash positions in the short term and near future.
- Re-value FX Denominated Accounts: Perform revaluation as required for financial statements.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure reconciliations and information reported to the receiver are accurate and comply with CCBA and statutory regulations.
- Timely Payments: Ensure payment is made to the Receiver of Revenue by the last day of every month.
- Accurate Journals: Ensure journals are completed with 100% accuracy.
- Identify and Resolve Deviations: Address reconciliation deviations within one month.
- Monthly Reconciliations: Conduct and submit reconciliations of balance sheet accounts in a timely manner.
- Resolve Outstanding Items: Address critical outstanding items on monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Timely Tax Returns: File annual tax returns on time.
Skill and Educational Background:
- Education: First Degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- General: Applicants must be Ethiopian Nationals.
