Job Description:
Finance Manager Responsibilities:
- Directly manage the finance function and lead professional financial standards.
- Manage other finance staff within the country or region.
- Prepare financial plans and produce financial reports.
- Manage the financial aspects of donor-funded programs and appeal funding.
- Support and build the financial capacity of Christian Aid staff within the country or region.
- Facilitate external, internal, and donor audits.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and statutory requirements.
- Participate in the Senior Management Team, contributing to strategy and planning.

Skill and Educational Background:
- Masters/Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related discipline; or a qualified IFAC accountant (ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in INGOs.
- Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, and managing audits.
- Familiarity with local government regulations and procedures.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage large institutional funded grants.
- Skills in budget preparation, analysis, training, consolidated financial reporting, and presentation.
- Experience in capacity-building work of national organizations is desirable.
Applied Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
Essential:
- Strong background in financial principles and practices.
- Substantial experience in preparing complex budgets and financial reports.
- Ability to contribute to Senior Management’s strategy and plans.
- Experience leading a finance function and managing a small team.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to implement and evaluate financial control.
- Verbal and written fluency in English.
- Experience using computerized financial reporting tools and advanced use of Excel.
- Experience managing audits, specifically SUN System Accounting application.
Desirable:
- Experience dealing with institutional donor funding accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership and solution-oriented abilities.
