Job Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Uplift Her project in the Afar region. This project aims to enhance the health and well-being of vulnerable adolescent girls through targeted interventions addressing gender inequality and poverty reduction. The officer will be responsible for ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project activities in collaboration with the Friendship Support Association (FSA).
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with FSA and CARE teams to coordinate monitoring and evaluation efforts.
- Oversee data collection, compilation, and documentation according to CARE Ethiopia and donor standards.
- Build capacity of FSA staff in monitoring and evaluation practices.
- Monitor project progress, analyze data, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Support learning and documentation of best practices for organizational use.
- Foster partnerships and ensure accountability measures at the implementation level.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social science, health science, statistics, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; experience in NGO settings is desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS), database management, and data analysis. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages.
- Other Skills: Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and strong belief in teamwork, gender equality, and sustainable development.
