Position: Junior People Officer
Location: Addis Ababa
Job Description:
The Junior People Officer supports the People Business Partner in addressing employee needs throughout the employment cycle. Responsibilities include facilitating induction for new employees, providing administrative support, ensuring employee upskilling on HR systems, managing benefits enrollment and updates, and assisting with offboarding processes. The Junior People Officer also plays a key role in maintaining HR data accuracy for payroll processing and record-keeping purposes. Additionally, they provide support on HR-related issues such as grievances, employee engagement, and development initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
- Provide guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Process employee lifecycle requests within agreed SLAs.
- Develop and implement onboarding and offboarding plans.
- Support recruitment, development, and performance management processes.
- Drive employee engagement and recognition activities.
- Assist in managing disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Maintain employee records in compliance with policies and legal requirements.
- Evaluate and implement efficiency improvements in HR support.
- Handle employee data in accordance with data management policies.
Skill and Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Studies, or relevant field.
- 1 year of experience in Human Resource Administration.
- Knowledge of HR processes including pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development, and grievance management.
- Understanding of labor laws, disciplinary procedures, and HR policies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.
- Strong ethics and reliability.
