Job Title: IELTS Speaking Examiner
Role Overview:
The IELTS Speaking Examiner will conduct assessments for the IELTS Speaking module, maintaining standards required by the IELTS Professional Support Network (PSN) and the British Council. The examiner will be responsible for delivering IELTS oral interviews and collaborating with examiner support teams.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct IELTS Speaking tests.
- Mark IELTS Speaking tests.
- Ensure certification is up to date; attend training, standardization, and certification sessions.
- Conduct other IELTS and British Council exams as required.
- Adhere to IELTS Professional Support Network and British Council policies.
- Participate in examiner meetings and other relevant meetings.
- Promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in planning and delivering activities.
- Manage information in compliance with British Council standards and policies.
- Participate in required British Council training, applying principles of Child Protection and Health and Safety.
- Maintain professionalism and organization, dressing in line with local expectations.
- Stay updated on IELTS developments.
Essential Requirements:
- An undergraduate or Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification.
- Recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of full-time relevant TESOL teaching experience, primarily with adult students (16 years and over).
- Professional attributes and interpersonal skills suitable for the role.
Important Notes:
- All qualifications must be validated by a reputable institution and accredited by a professional certification board.
- “Full-time teaching” is classified as a minimum of 14 hours of in-person teaching per week. Freelance and volunteer teaching are not included.
