Position 1: Administrative Officer

Location: Aleta Wondo, Sidama

Job Summary:

The Administrative Officer will serve as the point of contact for the project office, providing administrative support, managing office stock, drivers, and cleaners, handling petty cash, and preparing regular reports. The role also involves vehicle log sheet follow-up, acting on behalf of HR in consultation with head office HR, and ensuring smooth daily and long-term administrative activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven work experience as an Administrative Officer, Administrator, or similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of office procedures.
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent English and Amharic written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity and moral standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in office administration or related fields.

Position 2: Market Analyst

Location: Hawassa (SNNPR & Sidama)

Position Summary:

The Market Analyst is responsible for the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of data to support evidence-based decision making within the organization. The role involves working with various market system actors to develop, pilot, and implement inclusive business strategies that meet market needs and promote behavior change to strengthen the horticulture market system.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Statistics, Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Cooperative Management, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, or related fields.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in analytical software such as SAS, SPSS, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with survey tools and databases.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data collection and analysis, research, market strategy development, and business plan development.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, error-free work.
  • Strong planning skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Fluency in Amharic, English, and one SNNPR/Sidama language.
  • Knowledge of SNNPR/Sidama language is a plus.
  • Willingness to be based in Hawassa.

Position 3: Market Linkage Specialist

Location: Addis Ababa (with frequent travel to project sites, mainly in Oromia)

Job Description:

The Market Linkage Specialist facilitates connections between start-up entrepreneurs and existing horticulture value chain actors. The role involves identifying and building market linkages between buyers, aggregators, and agro-input suppliers, providing support for market scans and analyses, identifying strategic partners, and organizing market linkage forums and workshops.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Business Administration, Horticulture, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and facilitating market linkages.
  • Experience in market systems development and facilitation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluency in English, Amharic, and Afan Oromo. Knowledge of Afan Oromo is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
